4 to 8 months from payment to title issuance, assuming no oppositions or substantive objections. If an objection is raised, add 2–3 months for response and review.

An international system that groups products and services into 45 categories. A trademark is registered by class — if you sell apparel (class 25) and also offer design services (class 42), those are two separate classes.
We tell you during the consult. Just describe what you sell or what services you provide. If you sell products online, you almost always register in class 35 (commercialization) in addition to the product's class.
You can register the name alone (word mark), the logo alone (figurative mark), or both together (mixed mark). The recommendation depends on how stable your visual identity is.
Yes — a slogan can be registered as a trademark if it's distinctive and not merely descriptive. It can also be registered as a commercial notice.
IMPI does not refund the official fee. That's why we run a phonetic search for free before accepting a case — we minimize the risk from the start. If an objection still comes, we respond at a preferential rate.
Lack of distinctiveness (overly generic or descriptive), similarity to an existing registered trademark, or filing in a class where another trademark already has rights. The free phonetic search catches the latter two.
Yes. Depending on the case, you can file an administrative appeal or a review proceeding. Each rejection is evaluated individually.
10 years from the application date. You can renew indefinitely every 10 years.
Since 2018, every registered trademark must file a declaration of use in year 3 to keep it in force. Without it, the registration is canceled. We notify you in advance.
You can pursue infringement actions before IMPI (administrative) or even civil action. Our monitoring service alerts you when someone registers a trademark similar to yours.
Yes. A registered trademark is an asset that can be assigned, licensed, or franchised. All transfers are formalized before IMPI.
